BALUE by Marjolein van Zanten

Creative connector and business strategist Marjolein van Zanten has over 18 years experience managing larger and complex projects for high-profile brands operating in strategy, project management, business development, marketing & PR, sales and exhibitions. A true builder, Marjolein believes in the power of collaborations and common goals. As a catalyst, Marjolein sees opportunities, motivates teams, develops new business goals and thinks up strategies.

She enjoys the challenges of building something from scratch as well as problem solving and getting everyone on the same page. “Where are we at now, and in what way can we grow or improve? And, most importantly, how can we add positive impact with this project, and is it relevant?”

Marjolein has worked for international brands such as Viktor & Rolf, Alexander McQueen, Madonna and Swarovski in London. Later, she started operating as a freelancer under the name of Balue, where she helped build Studio Drift, The Wunderkammer and has contributed to big scale projects for Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Audio Obscura and Jan Taminiau. Simultaneously, in 2010 her love for craftsmanship and supporting small local businesses stimulated her to launch her own company Bottines, selling beautifully handcrafted shoes made by French, Greek and Moroccan family run businesses that work sustainably.

Following a Permaculture Design Course (PDC) off-grid in Portugal, Marjolein sold her company Bottines and E-commerce platform end of 2019. She now wants to use her natural can-do attitude with making a positive impact on the environment or on society. Marjolein is focussed to work on regenerative or restorative projects and collaborate with other change makers on a solution based level.
